Superintendent of public instruction candidates to debate Oct. 17
INDIANAPOLIS — The candidates running for state superintendent of public instruction will meet for a debate on Oct. 17.
The debate will be held at noon on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
The current superintendent, Democrat Glenda Ritz, and the Republican candidate, Jennifer McCormick, will discuss a variety of education issues. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Claire McInerny and WFYI’s Eric Weddle will serve as moderators.
People interested in attending can either contact a campaign for priority seating or come directly to IPFW for general admission seating. Doors to the Classic Ballroom in the Walb Student Union will open at 11:30 a.m. for priority seating and 11:45 a.m. for general admission.
The debate will air in Indianapolis on 90.1 WFYI at 8 p.m. Oct. 17 and on WFYI 1 Television at 7 p.m. Oct. 23.
In Fort Wayne, the debate will air on WBOI 89.1 FM at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 and on PBS 39 at 7 p.m. Oct. 17.
