Steel processor expanding due to growing demand
INDIANAPOLIS — A steel processing company is growing its business in Crawfordsville and plans to create up to 21 new jobs by 2019.
Steel Technologies LLC is working to keep up with the growth of the industry in the region. Indiana is the nation’s leading steel producer.
“The added capabilities and increased capacity allows us to expand the services we bring to our growing customer base,” Mike Carroll, president and chief executive officer of Steel Technologies, said in a statement.
Construction at the current Crawfordsville production facility began earlier this month and is expected to be finished by early next year.
The Louisville, Kentucky-based company has five facilities in Indiana. In Montgomery County, the company currently has 67 employees with plans to hire more production positions. Anyone interested in applying can visit the company’s career website.
