INDIANAPOLIS — Triton Brewing Company has plans to grow its brewing operation and expand distribution into Kentucky, Ohio and Illinois.

Triton beers are sold in more than 1,500 local and national retailers statewide. By 2019, the brewing company will add up to 17 new full-time jobs that specialize in brewing, bottling and operations.

“We have a very strong connection to the community and the state, and we look forward to building our company and our lives here in Indiana,” David Waldman, director of operations for Triton Brewing Company said in a statement.

The company, which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, will invest $435,000 during the next three years at its Indianapolis facility near Fort Benjamin Harrison. The plans include adding equipment for increasing production and a kitchen to provide fresh, seasonal fare to customers.

More than 1,100 batches of beer representing 128 of Trition’s brands have been brewed since 2011. Many of the names of the signature beers are inspired by Indiana.
