INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Republican Party State Central Committee unanimously picked Kyle Hupfer Wednesday to serve as state chairman.
Gov. Eric Holcomb recommended Hupfner for the job. Traditionally governors select a party chair to work with.
“Chairman Hupfer will be a focused and passionate advocate for Republican candidates at every level of public service,” Holcomb said in a statement.
Hupfer served as treasurer for Holcomb’s campaign, co-chair of the Holcomb-Crouch Transition Board, and director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources under former Gov. Mitch Daniels.
He is currently the 5th District chairman and will remain until early March while the party’s re-organization process takes place. He is also chief administrative officer and general counsel of Indiana Mills and Manufacturing, Inc.
Hupfer takes the place of former Chairman Jeff Cardwell.
