Delph recognized for service during Hurricane Maria

INDIANAPOLIS―State Sen. Mike Delph, R-Carmel, was recognized with the Army’s Joint Service Achievement Medal for the work he did in Puerto Rico last year during Hurricane Maria.

Delph, a major in the Army Reserve, served on active duty last winter in Puerto Rico in support of Hurricane Maria relief and recovery operations. A member of the Army Reserve since 2001, he is currently deputy emergency preparedness liaison officer for Indiana.

Delph spent last Christmas in Puerto Rico, which was devastated by the hurricane, which destroyed homes and wiped out power to the island. is a news website powered by Franklin College journalism students.
